REVIEW - Dismaland

So, a couple of weeks ago i managed to get my hands on some very sought-after tickets for Dismaland and so, on Sunday we set off to Dismaland to see what it was like.
To be honest, i had high hopes anyway and was stupidly eager to see what the incredible Banksy had done to the old lido at Weston-Super-Mare.
I was gonna do a 'dismal' review as Banksy would probably like, but i am to overawed to not be excitable!

When we got there, there was hundreds of people around waiting to go in, we got in the long queue but it moved so quickly and after around 10 minutes, we were at the level crossing ready to go in.

As we entered, i was targeted by the 'security scan' entrance. The guy made me take my shoes off, requested some details about myself and fabulously humiliated me. So embarrassing and i quickly sped off as soon as he let me!!
There were lots of occasions of us and other people getting humiliated by the Dismal staff and it was hilarious, as people weren't sure if it was in jest or they were actually being told off!

We came to the main middle part and i was just amazed at what had been done here. From Cinderella's Castle, the Water Cannon Creek and The Big Wheel, it just looked better than any theme park i had been to. I was so excited to get around every bit of it and not miss anything out.

I really loved it all but especially loved...

  • The Galleries - amazing, captivating art from all different types of artists which included a Volkswagen Golf with embroidery all over it, which had a fascinating back story to it, which involved parts being reclaimed from car fatalities.

  • The Amusements - A fab 'Hook A Duck In The Muck' with a prize of a cardboard fish finger in a bag - which unfortunately we failed to win as the Dismal Girl worker tried everything to stop us winning!!

  • Guerilla Island - which included a fabulous tent of quotes, art and thought-provoking posters.

  • Cinderella's Castle - Incredible walk-through of Cinderella falling out of her carriage that had crashed, whilst paparazzi take pictures of her dying - this had been likened to Princess Diana and the similarities of her death. Very touching.

Programmes were fab and only £5. Merchandise was available but quite expensive and i desperately wanted a 'I am an imbecile' balloon but they had all gone!

Overall, it was fascinating and from my 10 year old daughter to my 59 year old mother that went, we were all captivated and left feeling like we really had visited something so cool and unique.

That's Magic! - Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Review

There was a lot of hype surrounding this foundation, which was released two weeks ago. Even Lily Allen tweeting on her Instagram about her desperate to try it out, so i was so intrigued myself to see what all the fuss was about.

Lily Allen showing love for Charlotte Tilbury

After trying so many foundations and some quite expensive, and being left disappointed by many, i really hoped this wouldnt be like the rest. And disappointed, i wasnt!!

The product promises to cover your pores, cover your flaws and live up to its 'Magic' name. As soon as i applied it, my skin was transformed. It glided on easily and left my patchy, blemished skin into a smooth mannequin doll, i kid you not!! I though 'ah, this will probably wear off after a couple of hours', as they all do, leaving my blackheads and dark circles on display for all to see come the afternoon....
But NO, come lunch time, whilst my eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick was still barely perfect, my skin was still looking good and flawless. And at 3pm and at 5pm. I was gobsmacked. I have had such a journey with foundation, that i was honestly so impressed.

I would recommend this to everyone and in fact, this being my first review, it actually prompted me to get this blog in action, as i just had to tell everyone!

If you, like me, struggle to find a long-lasting cover, then try this, you will be pleasantly surprised. No Instagram filters needed!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation comes in 12 shades and retails for around £29.50
